Taking art home on the plane

Can I carry a painting on an airplane?

Often, yes. Smaller works can travel with you in the cabin as hand luggage, and we pack them for exactly that. It is the simplest way to take a painting or a print home, because it arrives when you do.

Cabin bag sizes are set by each airline and differ from one to the next, so check your airline’s hand luggage allowance. Tell us which airline you are flying with, and we will help you choose a size that travels with you.

  1. Check your airline’s cabin bag sizeEvery airline sets its own hand luggage limits, and they are on the airline’s website.
  2. Tell us your airline and when you flyWe help you choose a work that fits, and have it packed in time for your flight.
  3. We pack the work for the cabinProtected and easy to carry, ready to go on board with you.
  4. Too big for the cabin? We ship it door to door instead, framed and packed by us.

The cost of shipping

How much does it cost to ship a painting?

Prints bought in our online shop ship free, anywhere in the world.

For original paintings and larger framed works, the cost depends on the size and weight of the packed work, whether it travels framed, and where it is going. Tell us which work you like and where it is going, and we will give you the shipping cost before you buy.

Our own framing workshop is in the gallery building, so a work can be framed, packed and shipped from one place.
